The Biology behind the Bioreporter

Our alkane sensor alkST encodes a rubredoxin reductase, and is a positive regulator for the alkBFGHJKL operon of Pseudomonas putida that encodes the enzymes that convert alkanes into acetyl-coenzyme A (van Hamme 2003).
